Mosaic Brand Design

Production Design
Over the course of 2 weeks, I created the branding for the Mosaic senior design exhibition which had over 400 attendees, a record turnout for the event. My roles included naming, logo design, brand identity, hand lettering, and production design.
The goal: encourage attendance + create visual cohesion at the event
The target audience for this celebratory exhibit are family, friends, colleagues, alums, and professors of the Seattle Pacific University graduates, but it was most important to design something to represent the graduating class well. One desire of our graduates was to have a more elevated exhibit design that resembled a museum. The neutral palette serves as a place for the eye to rest, allowing the colorful art and design works to be the emphasis.
Design explorations
The challenge was to abstract the letterforms without compromising readability. This allowed for a refined, modern look that still represented the creative energy of the exhibit.
Using light in the exhibit
With such a neutral color palette, one opportunity to create visual interest in the exhibit was to use light for more visual interest. Instead of traditional signage that is flush to the wall, the transparent vinyl signs are hung to display a shadow on the walls.
